Last week UTR hosted the annual Central Technical School Graffiti Fest, where 12 students competed in live graffiti painting for the championship spot. Special guest artist and music by Rich Kidd all helped make the day a success. Thanks to everybody who made it out.

FLAWLESS VICTORY

Under The Radar team has been going hard the last few weeks with mural productions and events on the go. This piece "Flawless Victory" is largely inspired by the Green Movement in Iran - a series of actions after the 2009 presidential fraud election, in which protesters demanded democracy and freedom. The hand and green wristband painted by Pepper represent peace, victory, hope, and unity.

March, 25,2011 Under The Radar Held an art show at the www.918bathurst.com on Bathurst & Barton. This show featured many styles of art from the UTR team from Acrylic Paintings to photography. The show was a part of the Capital Campaign launch for the new LOFT YCSEI, which Under the Radar will be a central part of. It was a really successful night. Thank you to everyone who came out to the event and supported us!

Toronto Graffiti is a rare and powerful book showcasing some of Toronto’s incredible graffiti artists, honouring their work and contributions to this city, while creating a dialogue about some of the issues involved.

Lynn Dally, Javid and Toronto graffiti artist Bomba speak on behalf of The Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre and the LOFT, telling the story of Toronto's longest running government sponsored graffiti program from which Under the Radar was created. See torontograffiti.ca to get a sneak peak at these interviews and more.

The book is expecting to be available early January, check the site to find out where you can get your hands on one.

LOFT MUSIC release party a great success!

On Saturday, December 11 2010, The Loft sound studio celebrated the release of it's LOFT MUSIC VOL.4. This release party/fundraiser featured live performances from Lola Bunz, Vargas, Yung Rem, Veronica, LC & Century, among many others.

Other highlights included the premier of Jeffery 'Vargas' Vallejo's music video "The True Sun of Man" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-WFMIzzu1M] - directed by Under the Radar's own, Danillo McCallum.

The release party also featured an art exhibit from Under the Radar, showcasing some of their great talent and artwork.

The LOFT MUSIC VOL.4 is out now!!! Stay tuned for more details regarding free downloads and look out for the new singles being released to a radio near you!

Junia-T has been coordinating workshops for the past few months where professionals from the music industry come in and do workshops with youth. So far Rich Kidd, Masia One and Junia-T(Smash Brovaz) have come through and dropped some gems on the youth.

This Thurs. Nov. 3 2010 from 4-6pm - Junia-T will be hosting the follow-up to the 1st workshop he did. This one is titled "Networking Pt. 2" . It takes place in the LOFT Studio soundspace. 854 Bloor St W. Check it out. Bless.

Under The Radar and The LOFT have been up to so many things over the summer and year 2010. We been busy painting murals, designing, doing music workshops, etc, etc, and overall just staying creative. We have documented a bunch of the ish, and now we are carving out some time to post pics of all the great endeavours we been involved with.

On Saturday, July 24th, the streets of Bloordale Village (Bloor between Lansdowne Avenue and Dufferin Street) closed to host one of Toronto’s most amazing festivals — The New Bloor Festival. One event in particular caught the interest of many. “Represent!” — as it was so aptly named — was a mixture of community organizations such as AK, Studio 32, UforChange and Under the Radar coming together to infuse the wonders of hip-hop culture into the day’s festivities.

Yesterday the UTR team, working with LOFT Music and Central Tech High school, hosted a graffiti fest for emerging writers in Toronto.
